Pack For Camp/InvestituresBoth myself (Camel) as well as Amy and Matthew Law are to be invested tonight, check out the Gallery to see how it all went. We also need to organise to pack for JOTA/JOTI to be held this weekend. |
A fun night was had by all, we also had Jonathan Law from
Maryland-Shortland Cub Pack along to do his Gold Scouting Family badge.

JOTA/JOTI Divisional CampHeld at Nords Wharf this is an international Scout event where all Scouts around the world get onto Radios and the Internet for the weekend. Our division is running a camp to join in the events and hopefully meet new people worldwide. |
Well what to tell you? everything was there a big B-R-A-V-O-O-O to Blinky and Fay for a well planned camp and when the Scouts weren't doing JOTA or JOTI they were doing one of the may activities there, non-stop fun. |

most of the activities were done, we also had a visitor, Hawker from 2nd Belmont come to plan the Rathmines raid and pickup the lifejackets she kindly lent us on the weekend |

This was done as a joint night with the cubs as Akela had to sort out Cubboree so we did some of the cub things as well and much fun (oops there's that word again) was had by everyone |

Badgework NightAs a new troop there is still much to be learned and this night we will be covering some of campcraft and citizenship as well as discussing Challenge badges. |
We got most of our camp planning done tonight and also Amy finished off and was awarded her Pioneer Citizenship and Campcraft badges |

Troop Birthday PartyThis is the traditional time of year for our Group to celebrate its Birthday and we will be doing this with a bbq as well as packing the gear into the trailer ready to go to the divisional comp camp. |
Happy birthday troop and a big B-R-A-V-O-O-O to the committee for the wonderful dinner provided. |

Divisional Competition CampHeld at Glenrock War Memorial Scout Camp this is a fun weekend run by the division to get back to scouting basics and make sure we all run safe and healthy campsites. |
A wonderful weekend with many water bombs shot from a ballista provided by the Lam-Wah's and a chance for all to experience traditional camping, while looking down on the Divisions Joeys camped conveniently in range of our weaponry.(No Joey Scouts were hurt in the events of this camp) |
Week 6 |

Rathmines RaidWe are having a Joint night with 1st Rathmines and 2nd Belmont at Rathmines Scout hall and using it to do some water activities as well as getting to know other scouts in our region. |
This was a fun event with all the scouts going for a swim and then flour and water flew everywhere, even Camel did not escape unscathed (Thanks to Hawker) but all in all our scouts held their own. Thanks to Rathmines for the hospitality and the food, I am sure the favour will be returned next year. |
Week 7 |

Construction NightUsing the skills learnt on our badgework night and the divisional camp we will be building a ballista and seeing how effective it is. |
OK so planning is never perfect, we did a navigation night and put some tents away, but we can now all do grid references and read a topographic map. |

Regional PL Fun WeekendMatthew will be attending this weekend which will coincide with the 70th anniversary of Scouting at Glenrock where Glenrock War Memorial Scout Camp is situated now. |
I do not know what happened as I only visited to receive first aid, and was in camp for the anniversary events, but I heard lots of laughter and saw many smiles so I assume Kevin and the Regional Team ran a good camp. |

Construction NightI promise this time we will build something, even if it kills me. |
Well we did it, we built scout chariots and wash stands, we also reviewed our navigation last week and picked up a new leader, welcome to Tim who we stole from the cub section |
Week 9 |

Black Friday Video NightTo round of the year we will have a video night and a small Christmas celebration (we may even see Santa) and I am sure we will love the rubbish we will both eat and watch. Hooray I am looking forward to this one. |
Wow, didn't this turn out to be fun, we saw many video's and Santa even came to everyone, what a way to end the year, I hope to see Jarred at the Coroboree and all the rest of you back next year. |
