Past Term Programs

Week 1

24/7/03

Games and Proficiency Badges

Along with having an easy night to bring in the new term, we will be going over the new proficiency badges (which have replaced challenge badges). Hopefully we can all go away with one to work on.

Everyone seemed to enjoy this night and I think most Scouts now have their Award Scheme back on track, Camel even dusted the cobwebs off a few games in his memory from when he was a Scout.

Week 2

31/7/03

Emergencies night

Tonight we will be testing the First Aid we have learned with a mock emergency or two.

Well shortly after the mock emergency where Amy broke her leg, she hurt her ankle, a good lesson why we should take these activities seriously.

Week 3

7/8/03

Pack for Camp/Knot review

I know we all love knots so much that we want to do them again! But seriously, we need to master the basics so that we can do cool things like that tower we built at the last camp.

We managed to have a good night and a big thanks to Raksha who helped us out while Pegasus was away.

Camp

8-10/8/03

Winter Camp

We are off with 2nd Belmont again, this time to Gloryvale near Gloucester. Make sure you all rug up warm!!!

Great weekend, fully backwoods and a real bush camp, a few Scouts were silly enough to go swimming (and there was ice in the river oooh). Photos up soon (yes photos).

Week 4

14/8/03

Challenge night

Tonight we will attempt to boil water in a paper bag I will try to put up photo's so you can see how we fared.

Well due to the brilliant turn up of 0 tonight we went home early and will do this another week, get well soon those of you that were sick.

Week 5

20/8/03
(Wed)

Sister District Night

Yet again Lake Macquarie have invited Newcastle District to their District night, this time to be held at Mt Sugarloaf in the form of a wide game. I don't think they realise what they are in for!

A good night was had all round A big thanks to Lake Macquarie for inviting us, I believe a return of the favour is in planning from Newcastle District.

Event

23-24/8/03

Sleepover with New Lambton

New Lambton have kindly invited us to a sleepover at their hall this weekend to practice camping skills. We will also go an a Pioneer Journey on Sunday.

A lot was learned this weekend, and a big B-R-A-V-O-O-O to 1st New Lambton for the use of their hall. Unfortunately the Journey had to be called off but we did some good construction building a table (see the gallery).

Week 6

28/8/03

Campcraft Night/Challenge Night

We are going to make sure we reinforce the skills learned on the weekend (and if you ask nicely I may sign the book of the Scout who forgot hers on the weekend). We will also be attempting to boil water in a paper bag as we missed out last time.

See the gallery for photo's of the attempts Amy and the Girls did well getting their water hot enough to burn, but there was not enough for a cuppa.

Week 7

4/9/03

Odds and ends

Tonight we will be making sure we all bring our books and finish up the badges that we have small odds and ends left to do on.

event not reviewed.

Week 8

Camp

12-14/9/03

Leadership Course

Jared and Amy have been invited to this weekend, I hope they are both able to attend.

A much more hands on course than it used to be and a great turn up. I had a ball with my sessions and Jared seemed to learn alot.

Week 9

17/9/03

Cub Joint Night

Tonight we are hoping to visit the fire station with the Cub Pack, it should be a great night and allows us to keep up with the rest of our scouting family.

A good time was had, or so I am told, I was unfortunately at another Troops presentation, but well done scouts I am told you all behaved well.

Week 10

25/9/03

End of Term F*^ Night

Yes that is right that evil Fun word just keeps popping up everywhere, Camel has some great activities planned for you all.

Sorry all, I made you all have fun, I promise to avoid that in future. We also came up with some great idea's for next term.
