Founders Day (B-P's B-day Bash)

Set to be a good one with many exciting activities planned. Baden-Powell was the founder of Scouting and so his birthday is a big day for all members in all sections of the movement.

2nd Belmont Joint Night

Tonight we are going to show our friends what we learned about paper bag cooking, we will be going out for a great night and will help them with some of the packing for the weekend.

1st Annual Glenrock Milk Bottle Regatta

Our boat is still in the planning stage but the weekend looks like it should be a hoot, hope to se everyone there to race our own version of the Titanic.

Tracking and Orienteering

With a chalk chase and some compass work at the finishing point (any guesses where?) we should learn a lot about these two traditional scout skills.

Week 7

Swimming Night

This had to be called off last year due to the weather so in true Scout spirit we will never give up, the pool awaits us.

 
This night turned out to be a great event with Watagans district joining us for an un-olympics, many thanks to Rikki from Rathmines who put the night together.
       

Camp

19-21/3/04

Survivor Challenge Camp

Well we have all seen the TV show, now lets put our skills to the test with our very own version of the show, who will be the Ultimate Glenrock Survivor.

 
A great camp, well done to the Scouts who (nearly) all slept overnight in their Patrol Shelters and well done to all those that won awards including our ultimate survivor: James Pearson of Edgeworth.
       

Week 8

25/3/04

Group Night-Hike

We will be taking a short walk through the bush near Wallsend to end up at the Plaza after 2 hours good luck all.

 
Everyone made the hike with no problems from Joeys to Scouts, great job all we have all proven our fitness.
       

Week 9

1/4/04

Joint Coast Guard Trip

We are taking a trip to Port Stephens Coast Guard at Whitbread Dr Lemon Tree, looking forward to learning a lot with our friends at 2nd Newcastle.

 
A big thank you to the deputy commander for showing us around we all learned a lot even the parents and leaders.

Flat Water Level 2

Hopefully we can get as many scouts as possible onto this weekend so we may be able to do a canoe hike later in the year.

 
Well Camel went with the 2nd Belmont Scouts and had a ball. Akela also showed but did not warn me he was coming.
       

Week 10

7/4/04 (Wed)

Ice Skating Joint Night

2nd Belmont have invited us to their Ice skating end of term night at Warners Bay. Lets hope for no broken bones.

 
Well done all just one hurt scout and nothing major (he wasn't ours anyway) everyone was skating much better by the end of it all.
